The first image that the audience is presented with is a mid shot of the main character in the film. This allows the audience to have an understanding of the most important character within the film straight away. This is significant to the audience as it is the first impression that the audience gets of the film. The fact that the main character is very well-known helps to advertise the film further. A voice over is used throughout the trailer to make it more personal to the audience, as well as providing an insight into the storyline of the film and characters thoughts/motives. Coupled with this is dramatic non-diegetic music, which adds to the suspense that is created and builds throughout the trailer. This would attract an audience to watch the film straight away due to the star power, personal feel and also the adrenaline that is created by the tension.
The next series of clips are used to further build suspense. The editing is very slow with the use of simple cuts between each clip, which allows a section of tension to build from the slow, drawn out atmosphere. The first clip is a close up of a cup of water shaking, which foreshadows the chaos that is about to occur. The second is an over the shoulder shot of a man looking at the window at an explosion happening down the street. This adds a sense of realism as this could actually be a sight that someone might see in everyday life, as well as representing the danger that the main character will find themselves in throughout the film. The last picture is a close up of the main character thinking of a plan to restore order. There is a voiceover that occurs at the same time as this clip which is talking about the dangers of an idea, the exact words used during this clip are "which is why...'. There is a pause here to build tension for the audience and leaves them wondering what the main character will do to get rid all of the evil and danger that is occurring. After this, there is a quick fade to black which creates adrenaline for the audiences and represents the start of all of the fast paced editing and action to come.
The fast paced editing cuts from action scenes to credits of the director and actors involved in the film. This allows the audience to have an insight into the key parts of the film as well as be informed of people involved in the creation of it. The non-diegetic music has also built up so that it is very dramatic, with the use of a lot of low key lighting used throughout to symbolise the danger that occurs within the film. This will attract the audience as they will want to know how the characters found themselves in danger, what exactly the danger is and how the restore order.
The fonts that are used throughout the trailer are capitalised sans serif in a two-tones silver colour. This fits in with the theme of the film, with silver connoting industrial, high-tech and modern. This suggests that the film will be about how a normal 21st century day can be turned into something of the imagination and similar to a futuristic feel.
The second to last clip that the audience sees would be of the title of the film. The background of the title is similar to a maze, which could connote that the film is all about solving a puzzle or that there are various factors that add to the complexity of restoring order. The title itself is black and looks almost as if it has been carved into the maze, this makes it seem very significant and has a bold effect on the audience. This clip then cuts straight to the institutional information and release date, which is the last image that the audience is left with. This is very important as it will tell the audience when they can actually go and watch this film, which is the last thing that should be left in their minds after watching the trailer.
